Re: Southport P-P Chorley - The league one, not the FA Cup one - Match Thread

More sense from YTT, thank you. I have it on good authority from a Chorley fan that they were bringing around 900 to the game last Saturday on some organised day out to Southport. If so the very late postponement has cost us a lot of money, which we can ill afford to lose. There will be not nearly a...

''Neither is "every door in the town" so it would be rather an unproductive exercise given the vast majority of the town have no interest in the club. I'm sure the commercial manager will be focusing his efforts where they're likely to have some success.'' Gosh, wish I was as clever as you...

Re: Brackley Town 1-0 Southport - Match Thread

Nice one from Port on the Kent! Bottom line is that we don't even have a proper squad of players. Putting injured players on the bench is nonsense. We must bring in a couple of experienced loan players immediately if we have no cash to bring in permanent signings. Liam is supposed to know the local ...

Re: Southport 3 - 3 Gateshead - Match Thread

Listening to Liam's podcast, all seems rosy on all fronts. I admire his current enthusiasm to bolster the players morale, but I do wonder what planet he is on! I have no criticism of the players. I am convinced they give their all and did yesterday. But for a remarkable goalkeeping performance and s...

Re: Spennymoor 3- 2 Southport - Match Thread

This is an insult to referees who take charge of Under 7s games!! Having seen the clip, this decision is a disgrace to the National League. This referee should be dropped from the list immediately. It is possibly the worst refereeing decision I have ever seen and I have watched plenty of young refs ...

Re: AFC Fylde tickets

Some stupidly daft rumours spread on here as usual!
It's £18 to sit or £12 to stand for adults. Under 16s £10 and £6, but no concession for over 65s.
I will be going, hopefully, to cheer the lads on!

Re: Southport 0- 2 Huddersfield

The attendance has not been announced on this occasion, but to me it looked very similar to that at the Blackpool game which was around 1,050. Thanks must go to the Huddersfield fans, probably around 400, who contributed nicely to our finances.

Re: Southport 0- 2 Huddersfield

I also enjoyed the game. Huddersfield are a strong Championship side, better than Blackpool were last week, and we could not be expected to win. We put up a good performance considering that, especially in the second half. We could do with a real striker, but I suppose every team says that! It was g...

https://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/2021/july/pre-season-report-squires-gate-0-blackpool-xi-7/ This was a mixture of U18s and U23s. Presumably they will put out a mixture of U23s and 1st team squad against us. Looking forward to seeing a good, competitive game this afternoon. Hope there is a decent c...

Re: Blackpool friendly ( h )

Blackpool playing Squires Gate from North West Counties League the night before. They will surely play a young team against them, so they will play a strong side against us. Can't expect us to win but it will be interesting to see how our 'new team' plays against a strong team and a pleasure to see ...

Re: Squad 21/22

I have to agree with Yellowfever on all counts. I hope Newell plays later in the season but he certainly won't be fit for a few months. I presume Liam is looking for real quality in goal, centre back, right back and an aggressive midfielder, together with another forward or winger at least. If we do...

Once again, many thanks to Rob who does a fantastic voluntary job for this club. Keeping the fans informed and involved like this is excellent. Thanks again also to those volunteers who make the place look smart and do a grand job of it. If I was a bit younger and lived a bit nearer I would be there...

Re: £2,000 Fine. . Is it fair?

The whole process of fining clubs for these breaches is obviously ludicrous and despicable. Unfortunately, a vote of 'no confidence' in the League Board won't be successful because many clubs wanted to carry on playing to the end of the season, so the proposal would be defeated. I also very much dou...

I join everybody else in wishing James all the very best for the future. He has done a fantastic job for Southport FC and will be a great loss to the Club, but life must go on and a suitable replacement must be found. We are in a very precarious position now and the supporters must back Ian Kyle and...

Re: Season declared null and void

The NL Board has declared our season null and void and have to go to the FA for ratification. The FA have no reason to go against this decision. Therefore there can be NO promotion to the National League, nor relegation from the National League. There can be no mini leagues either. This is a nonsens...
