Re: Southport 0-0 AFC Telford -Match Thread

Oh my goodness! I have watched some rubbish at Haig Avenue over the years, but today was possibly the worst I have ever seen. How many times have we said that before? I don't always agree with some of the comments made on Portchat but today POTK and Trickydicky are absolutely correct. I doubt there ...

Re: Previous permanent signings currently playing in Football League

Wish people would read properly! Paulisi asked for permanent signings. Raya, brilliant as he was and is, was only on loan to us!

Re: Southport 0-3 Peterborough Sports - Match Thread

Well, it's all been said before of course. Liam was a great Manager for us 10 years ago but football has changed since then, even at our level. Unfortunately he and his tactics have not.Same old, same old things time and time again. For goodness sake try something different for a change.Same kick of...

Re: The state of play.

What a depressing thread this is, but sadly the comments seem so true. If money cannot be found to bring in an extra striker now there seems little hope of any progress. Archer will score a few but he can't do it without proper support. If he goes out with an injury we can't even put two attackers o...

Re: Gateshead 3-1 Southport - Match Thread

All very sad, but SteH90 has nailed it. Our tactics are abysmal. Liam appears to be a one idea manager now and unable to change. His views are old fashioned. They worked a few years ago but he has been overtaken by many other tacticians even in this League. As I have said before, he has the Club in ...

Re: SFC Team for Mickey Mouse Cup Final

And by the way it is not a 'Mickey Mouse Cup Final'. It is a game much appreciated by the team and Manager, although I admit that Lancashire FA did let us down badly by playing the game at Leyland and not one of the big football League grounds. Couldn't even produce a proper programme!

Re: SFC Team for Mickey Mouse Cup Final

Very much enjoyed the game. Their supporters were magnificent singing throughout second half, obviously celebrating their promotion, all great stuff, no unnecessary swearing, made for great atmosphere, showed up our rowdy bunch of kids who make a lot of noise but with very childish behaviour thrown ...

Re: West Didsbury and Chorlton F C

Ralphy R is absolutely right in that Lancashire F A have let us down badly by playing the Final at the County Ground in Leyland. Last time we were in the Final it was at Bolton's ground and it was a great atmosphere at a proper football stadium. To the fans and the teams it was almost as good as pla...

West Didsbury and Chorlton F C

Champions of the North West Counties Division One West, 28 wins 3 losses, winning becomes a habit. Unfortunately so does not winning. West Dids and Chorlton have a small ground with a very small stand behind a goal but a decent club house (as a lot of these small clubs have). I've been there several...

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread

You can argue this as much as you like but I'm pretty sure most of us regulars are fed up with the long ball game and want to see some real football played. That means keeping the ball on the ground and passing on the ground a lot more. I watch plenty of Premier League football and I realise that th...

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread

Top and bottom of all this is that we have a stubborn Manager who won't change his mind about anything, although the problems are clear to see by many supporters. Injuries are bound to happen, the squad is too small. Worse than this is that the tactics are not good enough for modern football, even a...

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread

Let's be honest here - it was a complete shambles of a performance. Several good chances missed, players obviously not fit, tactics abysmal, no Plan B when things aren't going right, These young players give 100% nearly every game, but they are not being guided properly. I presume very little traini...

Very difficult to remain positive when we have all been so disappointed recently! But there is always hope, although they say that's what kills you in the end. Oh heck, I tried and look what happened!! Ok, let's try again. Come on lads, we can win today and on Monday and what a difference 6 points w...

Re: Southport 0-1 Kettering Town - Match Thread

Living in Manchester for 50 years I am privileged to have season tickets for my two teams, a local one and Southport, where I was born and bred and who I have supported from the age of 8. I can't persuade my son to watch the Port but I can occasionally persuade my grandson to come with me and he did...

Great interview. Obviously a very nice guy with his head well screwed on. Wish him all the luck in the world in his future and we know he will do his best for the Port for the rest of the season. Well done Doug!

Re: Southport 2-1 Guiseley - Match Thread

Guiseley were a poor side overall, we did not play particularly well but full credit to the lads for their 100% efforts as usual. We will play better than this. Their goal was definitely NOT offside. I was sat almost in line with the play and their player ran through from an onside position.I was di...

Is 30 goal man Jordan Darr worth a look Liam? I know it's North West Counties but that is a lot of goals in half a season in anybody's book.

Good luck to Marcus and really hope he makes an impression at Hartlepool. He has been great for us and deserves his chance. Go with our blessing Marcus. We will miss him, I'm sure but life at SFC now depends very much on Jordan Archer stepping up to the scoring plate. He can do it with help from the...

Re: Dion Charles

So Dion goes to Bolton Wanderers for 'an undisclosed six-figure fee'. I don't suppose anyone will ever tell us what the figure really was or what our percentage is although we would all love to know. I'm going to assume it was £200k and we get 20%, so that is a nice £40k which we didn't have before....
