Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Liam Watson obviously (to me) has decided against pursueing his services permantly-which surely tells supporters everything? Correct. I have to ask what does it tell us ?. Is it that LW isn't going to gamble on a player who may not be fit enough to last the season (ie, a financial gamble for the cl...

What horrendous news. I hope we honour Billy and Alex suitably. Condolences to the Russell family.

Re: Season Ticket Prices 2022/23
I felt that way during and after covid, including giving a small donation to the club and certainly not claiming back money for season ticket games lost. My issue is there comes a point where it has to feel two way and the proportional rise, clearly compounded by having two extra games, in my view ...

Re: Season Ticket Prices 2022/23
The charitable donation is my framing of it too. I don't get to very many home games and instead outlay on away fixtures.
But £25 a month to help keep my club going is a price worth paying.

Re: Playoffs
York were bang average - Brackley should have won at a canter but contrived to miss a hatful of chances and a penalty.
York had one shot on target and scored.

Re: Playoffs
The only better alternative to York going up from the National League is their relegation from it.
Either way, I wish they'd disappear. Long may Brackley, Kiddy and Boston remain at this level!

Re: Southport 1-1 AFC Telford - Match Thread
They played on Wednesday in a cup final against lower league side but on top of its game and Saturday against the full time leaders and Monday against a side fighting for survival. We are carrying injured players we have a lot of good young part time players giving their all. But knackered. It’s up...

Re: SFC Team for Sir Michael Mouse Cup Final
We've had a Hodgkinson sized black hole to fill. I personally think it's nothing short of a miracle that we've got a team even with the slightest chance of the play offs. We're frankly lucky to have a football club at all.

Re: SFC Team for Mickey Mouse Cup Final
Watched the stream also. Thought we played well and could/should have scored a few more. Tony Mac had precious little to do. Our first goal was top drawer...perfectly weighted cross-field pass from Munro, controlled deftly by Woods, who played the ball across the box for Archer to prod home. Second ...

Re: Southport 1-1 Spennymoor Town - Match Thread
What has happened to our '14 game without defeat team'? We were playing good, pressing football and scoring for fun. Now we can hardly 'buy' a goal. Summary of the season - 1/3 rd. very good, 2/3rds very poor. As has been said before, we need a bigger squad. We need decent support for Archer (Newel...

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread
In January we were so close to losing five players, besides Marcus, to Conference and league clubs.
It's a great thing we were able to persuade them to sign new contracts, and huge credit to Liam and Ian for that.
There really is nothing like a Portchat meltdown, is there?

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread
I am no expert on the NLN, nor indeed on the NPL, nor am I an expert on Southport FC. I do have a passing interest in Southport, from days some 30 years ago when we were both in the same league. Non league football is a different game from those days. I can see it in the NPL West Division, where ev...

Re: Farsley Celtic 2-0 Southport - Match Thread
Two poor penalties, the first one never one, the second one I thought their forward was stood behind our last defender. Not that it matters , I felt had we scored first we would have gone on and won . On balance I feel we are in the right position . Marcus got into this position with his dogs of wa...
