Re: Changes to football rules?
I'm old enough to remember the days of 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Bringing in 3 points for a win happened because far too often, matches where teams were drawing just settled for the point each, there wasn't enough incentive to risk it. One of the best changes made to the game. Keep the rules...

Re: Playoffs
And caused 10k damage to their own ground and invaded pitch to threaten away fans ….delightful. Good riddance if they go up. Pity if they stay in same div as us 😱 I very much doubt this was anything to do with their fans who have stuck with them through their dark days since relegation from L2. Whe...

Re: Which teams will get promoted out of our league?
Peterborough Sports? I can honestly say this thread is the first I have heard of them and I am an anorak. I see they only won the South Central Div 1 last season, so this would be consecutive promotions. Do they have a money man? I've heard of Peterborough Sports - they reached the 4th qualifying r...

Re: SFC Team for Mickey Mouse Cup Final
No match thread tonight but I won't put the score up in case others are watching a replay of the stream later Is there an embargo on discussing the match until everyone informs us they've watched it? :| Surely anybody who wants to avoid finding out the score would equally avoid the match thread whe...

Easter Monday isn't a Bank Holiday in Scotland so the Scottish teams aren't playing today.

Re: Mind your language
I took my daughters to football matches from primary school age. They heard swearing but they knew it was something we as a family didn't approve of. They are now adult and have never sworn at all. They used to tell me off if I ever used so much as a very mild expletive. Having said that, a torrent...

Re: Southport 0-0 AFC Fyld€ - Match Thr€ad
Can’t comment on the match as wasn’t there, however James Rowe what a vile vile individual. I just listened to his post match interview and he is a disgrace. So glad we have someone like Liam at our club. Really hope AFC Fylde don’t go up and get smashed in the playoffs and would love to be their a...

Football is a short career. Any move upward is a gamble - some pay off, others don't. Hopefully it'll come right for Marcus in time but if it doesn't, at very least he'll not be left thinking "if only?"

With any luck Stevenage will be relegated instead and the comment re Oldham will be academic. But that's just me who detests Steve Evans!

Re: Next Season
The leagues are as unbalanced as anything. I do think there is a real shout for a North, Midlands, and South league. I don't disagree with you. It's especially crazy that if Brackley do win promotion they'll reduce their mileage by being in the National League rather than the Regional League NLN. A...

Re: Fylde sack Bentley
I can tell you from people in Gloucester they have all said to me James Rowe has no loyalty he’s purely a money oriented man. It would seem quite understandable that any manager might move from a NLN club to an ambitious club which has spent most of the last century in the EFL. Also why should foot...

Re: Fylde sack Bentley
What a strange appointment. Whatever he did at Chesterfield was apparently bad enough for them to get rid of him despite him taking them to top of NL. Maybe the very unpleasant rumours have been found to be unproveable? Or maybe it's a case that he and Fylde deserve each other?

Re: Southport 0-0 Brackley Town - Match Thread
I think it sometimes depends on why the red card was given. If the remaining 10 players feel the red card was unjust, then they often rally to get a result almost for their teammate.
Teams who go down to 9 men usually lose, a 2 man deficit is usually too much for a team to overcome.

Re: Phil Hodgkinson
The cynic in me always thinks that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is. It was clear from the start with his interaction with fans on this board that he was ambitious and egotistical. His downfall was that he didn't understand that you can't just march into non-league football and ...

Re: Hereford 0-1 Southport - Match Thread
I like the way they complain we were horrible whilst at the same saying their own team needs to be more horrible. I presume they will then complain abour their own team. Yes but everybody does it. We all moan when the opposition feign injury, time waste, have the ref on their side -i.e. gamesmanshi...
