Re: RIP Alex Russell
Certainly not forgotten that second spell yellowfever. I was behind the goal against Hartlepool as well. Couldn’t actually see the ball hit the net but knew from the crowd reaction. I didn’t realise he was only 31 when he left in 1975. The best Southport player I’ve seen in all the years watching th...

Re: Southport 1-1 AFC Telford - Match Thread
Absolutely dreadful performance today. There must have been quite a few occasional supporters today. Most of them won’t be hurrying back soon. Some of the players given 2year contracts shouldn’t really be here next season. Complete folly to give all of these out with so many games left. A few maybe ...

It would be interesting to hear from Terry but we never do (or any of the players). Does he have any input on tactics?
I wonder if he will be here next season.

Re: Isaac BR
Loan players can be recalled after 28 days if not long term deals. John Marsden was brought back in April 2015 when we had an injury crisis under Carden. Jason Walker was recalled by Forest Green with a couple of games to go in 2014. I don’t think he’s here next season but just frustrating in the si...

I think the fans deserve an explanation why IBR has not been recalled. At least he’s fit.
Also why no mention of Liam Edwards? Probably injured but no word on him for weeks.

Re: Southport 0-1 Kettering Town - Match Thread
No squad depth is costing us.
Buckley-Rickets still out on loan. Why not recall him? Mansell sent back to Accrington.
They might not have set the world on fire but at least would have provided options.
Walton is not a striker but keeps being played up front.

Re: Match Thread - Alfreton 2-2 Southport
Liam said in his interview that Bainbridge played with an injury yesterday and then aggravated it. He said we are down the bare bones but there’s only Tharme who is due to come back soon. Mansell has gone back to Accrington and no mention of what’s happening with Edwards. We have a player in Benjami...

Re: Southport 2-3 Blyth Spartans - Match Thread
POTK has pretty much summed things up perfectly. I agree about Bainbtidge and Woods. The small squad is finally really hurting us as reflected by the lack of strength on the bench. Also we now don’t have the same goal threat we had with Marcus Carver. We’ll know a lot more about our possible play-of...

We really do need to bring in 1or 2 on loan.
I wonder if Accrington have got anyone we can borrow for a month or two.

Re: George Newell
The schedule for February is hectic. 8 games and no free midweeks.
Hmami and Watson out for a while. We can’t fill the bench now without iincluding injured players.
Surely someone has to be brought in up front.

Has this been officially confirmed anywhere yet by the club?
If so, it sounds like a good appointment.

We do have squad numbers.
Niall Watson always wears 17 whether starting or not. Chris Doyle wears 14.

Re: Southport P-P Chorley - The league one, not the FA Cup one - Match Thread
Does anyone actually know what the rules are about calling a game off due to COVID? The Chorley manager talked about all their injuries in his post-match interview. How many have symptoms? Did the National League have to give permission to postpone the game. Financially it's bad as well. A midweek g...

Similar to TrickyDicky but went to bed a bit earlier having heard we were 1-0 up. I was just hoping we could hang on. Fabulous win against Cardiff followed. There is some footage of that on YouTube but appears to be missing the 2 goals. BBC Wales must have edited them out! We must have thought follo...
