Re: Southport 1-0 Leamington - Match Thread

I thought Chris Doyle was outstanding at the back in a back four that will certainly see changes next week. (Carberry and Anson available - Keenan made a few mistakes in the second half). Chris is much more effective against big physical forwards who lack movement. 4-4-2 is the right formation when ...

Re: Marcus Carver

Probably will come off the bench, certainly won't get 90 mins straight away.

Just need to sort out the goalkeeper issues and the leaky defence.

I'm not sure anyone really cares about this fixture and we will be lucky to get 200 through the gate.

Re: Leamington

A few ifs here, if we keep 10 men on the pitch, if we sign Carver in time, if we play to feet & use the wings if we abandon kick & rush approach, a much needed win is on the cards 2-0 Carver Archer attendance 749 You forgot to mention if we don't sack Liam and replace with the two clown who...

Re: Transfer Rumours

In terms of the injured striker's situation. The forward linked prior to the Bank Holiday weekend, that's likely to be over. There has since been a change of manager at that club. The forward who picked up an injury last week, a week has passed in terms of that recovery. Prior to that, the deal was...

Re: Chester 1-0 Southport - Match Thread

For all the domination in the first half, we never managed a shot on target. Second half didn't have the intensity. One shot on target from Josh from 20 yards that the keeper spilled and the header from Jordan that hit the post. Other than that we hardly threatened. You will not win many games when ...

Re: Chester 0-0 Southport - Match Thread

Anson didn't warm up, so still injured.

100 mile an hour stuff.
We dominated the first half, but they had the best chance at the end when Tony Mac made a great double save.
Hmami playing well.

Re: Chester Predictions

I predict we might even have a fit bench for tonight.

Walton is available. Hmami will probably start. Anson and Niall are close to fitness and I'd expect Cam to have recovered from his concussion.
Chris Doyle was also waiting for the specialists all clear to resume training.

I doubt it.
Jordan is fit, Enoch has extended his loan and it is rumoured Niall Watson is close to full fitness

Re: An idea to help the club generate money & publicity

Marketing is the weak point. Ticket revenue is probably the biggest earner, so try and maximise. Get the signage back up that TIY put in place Push the matches on social media Promote what you have to sell in the ground/club shop - programmes, alcohol, food etc I suspect are large proportion of the ...

Previous permanent signings currently playing in Football League

Do we have a definitive list of former Southport permanent signings currently playing in the football league?

I can only think of four:

Dion Charles (Bolton)
David Morgan (Accrington)
Doug Tharme ( season long loan at Accrington via Blackpool)
Shaun Whalley (Accrington)
