Re: Playoffs
Notts County consigned to another season outside of the EFL after losing at home to Grimsby Town last night in front of a 12000+ crowd in the National league eliminator. They now go to Wrexham in the semi final.FC Halifax town v Chesterfield tonight. I wonder what fans of these clubs must be thinking...

Re: Playoffs
Bit of a strange one that...Vermiglio as far as I know is still the head of a primary school, so to be looking for a "new challenge" within football at this kind of level is odd-unless he thinks he can get a job at a full time set up? I would have thought that Chorley FC was ideal for him-...

Re: Possible transfer targets for next season etc...
Recruitement of players this close season is I reckon going to be harder than ever for SFC and obviously Liam. By and large we are surely going to be looking for players yet to prove themselves and also having that desire to succeed in the game- ala Doug Tharme. Experience wise we should maybe looki...

Re: Playoffs
It just shows that the so called " priority" spots of 2nd and 3rd positions in the playoffs means diddly squat with both Brackley and Kirkham squandering home advantage after just not being "up" for games against teams with an extra game BUT momentum.York City literally crawled i...

Re: Playoffs
Hilarious result at Kirkham this afternoon as 5th place York City now entertain 7th placed Boston Utd in next weekend's National North final. Penny for the thoughts (again) tonight for Kirkham's head honcho Haythornewaite who for the second year in a row see's a team promoted into the EFL under thei...

Re: Possible transfer targets for next season etc...
I love the optimism on here which is great, as regards attracting a bit of experience into our ranks which i think most of us think would be good-for a largely young group of players. However the likely hood of picking up a Huntingdon or a Spearing is pretty unlikely I would imagine. We are now at Na...

Re: Playoffs
And caused 10k damage to their own ground and invaded pitch to threaten away fans ….delightful. Good riddance if they go up. Pity if they stay in same div as us 😱 I very much doubt this was anything to do with their fans who have stuck with them through their dark days since relegation from L2. Whe...

Re: Michael Carberry
Good signing Michael must be related to Larry Carberry who won the football league with Ipswich under Alf Ramsey in 1962 Larry was from Bootle and ended his career at Burscough. He was also grandfather to Adam (and Liam?) Blakeman Fantastic knowledge "yellosoul" which sounds pretty convin...

An outstanding season from an outstanding player.
How on earth sponsors didn't pick him more as MOM was ridiculous.
Worth a small fortune now..

Re: Bradford PA 0-5 Southport - Match Thread
It was good to finish the season with a decent win.Pleased too for all the "away" supporters who must have spent a fortune both in time and money.Hats off...Eleventh placed finish-probably about right but not quite good enough to get through playoffs.Hopefully the 42 game season will have ...

I'd be leaving Doug Tharme on the bench for this one. It's a "nothing" game and I wouldn't be risking any injury to him at this late stage on a plastic surface. He's done more than his share of defending for the club this season. Not worth the risk IMHO. Obviously it would be good to finish w...

Re: Altrincham FC
All quite depressing really. Disagree. We tried to do it but what we ended up getting was the worst full time players as opposed to the better part time players. Each to their own but I don't think it's prudent for Chester to do this. Good luck to Altrincham...it's a wealthy part of the country aro...

Going full time-wow... I never thought I'd see the day when this happened.Gates there this season have rocketed since "lockdown" and they've probably benefitted last season through playing behind closed doors.Limited relegation places too-so less pressure, but you can't knock them. I notic...

Re: Declan Evans
This is worrying then too..? We've bought a player now who has obviously picked up a serious injury? "Out for the season" usually implies that? One can only hope that the injury suffered won't prove to be a long term issue-especially with a fee being involved. We've already got Chris Doyle...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Liam Edwards has been released by Bolton. I really I hope he can get over his injury problems. If we go down that route, I'd love him here permanently as he's such an amazing asset when fit. I don't know if Liam dares take a risk on him but if he could overcome his injury woes I think he'd probably...

Re: Declan Evans
I know Declan was supposed to be involved at SFC at the latter end of this season due to Mossley's season finishing earlier- but had picked up a knee injury. I wonder what news on him? We don't need another serious injury to a player before he's kicked a ball in earnest for us.. Any news would be ap...

Re: Southport 1-1 AFC Telford - Match Thread
2 wins in last 20, 14 points from last 54, dire The stats don't make good reading. You're right, from the half way point of 39 points from 21 games(an amazing achievment BTW) we've won 2 drawn 9 and lost 9 of those 20 games. No home win in 9 (7 draws and 2 defeats) and a miserable 15 points out of a ...

Re: Southport v AFC Telford United
We need a win-never mind Telford... They wouldn't give a monkey's about SFC in a reversed situation. I've said it before about SFC-we're too "nice" to the opposition.I thought we'd began to over come this earlier in the season when Managers of clubs were moaning after leaving games pointle...
