Re: Peterborough Sports Predictions
Not sure whether anyone on Port Chat knows enough to answer this, but what sort of fanbase do Peterborough Sports have? I've always assumed if you're a football fan from Peterborough, you'd support United, but then again, a Sports fan might find that imsulting, like assuming everyone from Nottingha...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Silsden, like Guiseley, Ben Rhydding, Menston is one of those villages in Yorkshire were they play hockey, cricket, football and/or Rugby out of a clubhouse. Usually family affairs (grandad, dad, son all players for the teams. Played Silsden at cricket a few times in my Leeds days, nice places. Coul...

Alfreton are going FULL ALFRETON this year with 6ft4 Matt Rhead and 6ft7 Tom Denton upfront (a combined age of 71).Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 1:05 am …as we've got five goals in our last two away games it'd be nice to shove at least that many up Alfreton.

Re: Boston predictions
Away from predictions here. Aren’t we meant to be getting a new away shirt? Boston’s home strip clashes with our home strip so I would have thought we would be in the new away shirt. Maybe an announcement coming tomorrow? Called it - and it looks fantastic. Jack Bainbridge looks quite pleased about...

Re: The state of play.
I’d be interested, given Ralphy’s ‘see where we are in December’ post, how often in the last few seasons we have bought players during the season. I’m guessing not many as we seem to have a reliance on loan players from mainly Accrington who don’t know the League, aren’t suited to the League and le...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Marcus Carver signs for Scunthorpe- in the same division we'd have been in this season had he stayed. Disappointing for him no doubt, but as I and others said at the time of his departure, it seems he perhaps should've stuck it out with us until the end of the season just gone. In the end, the move...

Re: Away coaches.
A great idea Dan. Good luck with it! Perhaps the club could also consider a seat sponsorship scheme? £100 for the season, name in the programme on top of a diagram of the inside of a coach, bulk of proceeds used to subsidise the cost of coach travel, maybe keep some to one side to repair a window :D

Highlights online now.
The first was another goal for the long throw haters. Although I'm not sure they'll be as effective next year without DT.

Re: Todays game -Blackpool FC
So back to the usual funerial atmosphere this season bar the odd middle aged norbert in the main stand moaning at everything or the ones who think they are hilarious shouting things at linesman that weren't funny in 1974 and still aren't. Hope the local neighbourhood watch are happy. Exactly right....

Re: Fixture release 22/23
I doubt we’ll see any more than one or two newcomers at this stage (preferably a winger), and don’t think there’s any need to start the season with any more than 20 players, especially if we can stay injury-free. We can hopefully add someone meaningful to the team later in the season if/when needed....

Re: Fixture release 22/23
How on Earth can it be sensible to be playing the North East teams, (home and away) on Tuesday nights, but the likes of Chorley and Fylde on Saturday’s. Makes no sense whatsoever, particularly travelling to Darlington and Blyth in December. My guess is that it would not make a huge difference in aw...

Re: New Book Coming Soon: The Town's Game
On behalf of Southport RFC, we would like to thank Dan for all his hard work in writing such a great book. I have been fortunate enough to have read the draft, and the factual detail is phenomenal, it really gives a fantastic understanding of Sport in Southport at the time. It may already be noted,...

Must have hit a bad time when I was there then.. Traffic backed up from Tarleton lights up to the Croston "roundabout turn"-reckon I'd have been there yet if I'd waited... It's like that every day until the new Aldi is almost finished. I joined the queue as far back as Embley's garden cen...

Re: Todays game -Blackpool FC
From what I've seen, embarrassing from so called "home fans" - if that's true then don't bother coming again Which gate did they storm? I’ve been to hundreds of games where people wind up the opposition. I haven’t been to many games where grown men stormed a gate because they couldn’t han...

It may be too late for many-but just to warn people travelling in from the Preston direction that the A565 at Tarleton traffic lights has a 4 way lights system and is causing havoc. Croston Village is also closed from two directions. Sheer mayhem. Mawdsley Village,Rufford,Mere Brow was my way throu...
