george wrote: Sun Jan 16, 2022 3:59 pm Again you miss the point, we have a manager that has his feet in both camps, and I still think that's not necessarily ideal, and I don't want LW to make decisions that maybe influenced by other things than the team on the pitch, just saying
So you want a manager that will work against the board?

Re: Conflict of interests?

New manager asks for money for a striker. Board says no. Then what? Sack him too? Sack the board? Liam Watson the manager has made us well over £500k in player sales, possibly even closer to £1m. If we're ever going to afford a journey to the Football League then history would suggest it'll most lik...

Re: Marcus Carver

Totally correct. The team has certainly performed since he arrived, but do we know for sure that it is his input that has made the difference? I do not think you need a calculator to work it out or to have a University Degree. The performances since his arrival have been like night and day and it i...

Re: Marcus Carver

In my opinion we do need a new striker and for that role I am sure that Liam and Tommy Lawson will have earmarked someone, whether that is one dropping down that will improve for regular football or one from below us that is ready to step up we will see. We have got some bonus money about that can ...

Re: Chester

Can't blame anyone for wanting to do their own thing when following Boris and his pals is the alternative. We gave up being a serious country when Cameron won again in 2015. Let's face it, the clowns we have in charge haven't got the moral authority to do what Wales and Scotland have done anyway. S...

Re: Marcus Carver

Would be disappointing to lose him, but a positive sign of the strength of our squad when we've someone like George Newell almost ready to replace him. Top goalscorers don't tend to come cheap in January and at 28 it's unlikely he'll be sold-on up the leagues, so hopefully we'll get a decent sum for...

Elliot Osbourne-the player who never wanted to be at SFC signs for "Billy big bollocks" Parkinson at Alty. I always rated him but played for Southport FC in the wrong division-he'll be definetely suited to playing at a higher level. Alty having a go in the National Lge but will find the o...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

Sad. Two or three years ago he could have had a few Premier League games when Sheffield United got promoted if he hadn’t pushed for a big pay increase. It’s been downhill ever since. Mark Duffy tells a different story. Though at his age his career trajectory is hardly unusual. http://www.viewfromth...

Re: Future football league players?

The most important thing is, we are one of the best 4 sides in the league, lets all rejoice in that. I think the jury is still out on that, for me. I’ve not checked since but as of last weekend we’ve just one league win against a side in the top half in all season. I agree, but haven't we also only...

Re: Southport v Curzon - Sun 2nd Jan - 3pm (Match Off)

and as for Everton using it,unless we get a shed load of money, what's the point? The point is we get a shed load of money off them and we’d lose much more revenue losing Everton as tenants than we lost calling the game off today. We won’t be getting a shed load of money off them for much longer if...

Re: Future football league players?

The interest in Tharme is understandable but odd, given he'd been playing at this level already and was available for free in the summer.
