Re: Update from Ian Kyle

Totally understand the gripe with balls landing in this guys garden.

When he first bought the place in 1904 there was no football ground there - just a beautiful view over some fields.

Re: Captain 21/22

35 year old Steve McNulty played in most games for League Two Tranmere before dropping down to the Conference North, so it isn't that ridiculous a suggestion. I'd love to be proven wrong and we sign Clarke, but it won't happen, unless we pay well...which is what York did with McNulty. I think Clark...

Pleased for Morecambe.

Former loanee John O’Sullivan fouled in the area for the winning goal.

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

I read an article the other week that stated that Andy Holt's Accrington Stanley weren't in a position that they had to sell their best players, so anybody who has already spent SFC's cut of Dion Charles transfer fee may have to wait a while.Any club that can release players of the quality of Zehn ...

Re: National League Statement today

Meeting called at the request of 14 clubs, yet only 7 voted in favour? Doesn't make sense to me 7 didn't vote in favour. 33 did. 29 against. As somebody wrote on Twitter... "So the majority of Step 2 vote for the no confidence because they feel that the National League only cares about Step 1 ...

I believe Willoughby was a target in the summer before PHIL left, though I imagine he’s out of our reach now.

Not sure about Barrow, but Harrogate certainly didn’t fund their football league journey with just programme sales and raffle tickets.

Compare us to other clubs in that period that lost their "sugar daddy" and we're excelling.

That seems contradictory
Not at all. I’ve had my favourites over the years, but they’ve not always been the best players.

Re: Pre-Season Schedule

All very well speculating about fan numbers what about the type of team we are going to have next season .What players have been retained and what new players are being brought in . The situation hasn’t changed much from two weeks ago. Managers and players here and elsewhere are furloughed, so very...

I can only assume they wanted to give us a choice, but also wanted option two.

Has to be black shorts and socks though.

Don’t know anything about him but from the article he certainly sounds like the kind of person we want involved at the club in one way or another.

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

Between FCUM and us, Gilchrist had one good season at this level - albeit less impressive when you discount penalties. 23 goals in 37 appearances at South Shields is a good return but I don't think you can read too much into his goalscoring record at a bankrolled club at the top of the league below....

I believe James Dean was a regular opponent and also an ex-target of ours.

Sadly his body has been found today after going missing.

Re: Update from Ian Kyle

National League have shown no leadership at all, pathetic effort. Thought it was a good measured interview from Ian, maybe a brief one could be done with Liam re Mo Ali's seeming departure, how George Newell is recovering from injury and maybe the type of players he's looking to bring in? August wi...

Re: Popular or poplar

It's not so much that it would be named after the road, but it's not uncommon for areas to have a lot of things that are similarly named. In Bamber Bridge there is Withy Grove Park, Withy Grove Vets, the Olde Original Withy Trees pub, the Withy Arms pub, and a street called Withy Gardens. But it's i...
