Be patient for a little while.
But we haven't managed a league win in 11 games and that's a fact not an agenda item. Patience is wearing a little thin.

Re: FA Cup draw

Michael.. You can wrap it up anyway you want. When you analyse the length of time that our long standing Chairman was in charge-a whole 34 ( THIRTY FOUR) years. The club totally under achieved, and as a result we find ourselves basically-back where we started.Only now- playing catch up in a more comp...

Re: Brackley Town 1-0 Southport - Match Thread

[quote="Any Port In A Storm" post_ I admire people who back the club no matter what but those people will be saying there is no need to panic when we are playing Hesketh Casuals on Meols Park in the district league and won't hear a bad word said. It's been repeated but the injured substitu...

Re: FA Cup draw

So long? They've only been in charge for 2 years since Phil Hodgkinson left. A season of readjustment during the fallout of his departure followed by a pandemic. The rot set in more than 2 years ago, long before Mr Hodgkinson's time. There you go Michael-you actually said it.. The rot set in during...

Re: Brackley Town 1-0 Southport - Match Thread

Stupid question as it's none of your business, but I've done my bit in the past and no doubt will in the future but I am not a commercial business. Neither is "every door in the town" so it would be rather an unproductive exercise given the vast majority of the town have no interest in th...

Re: FA Cup draw

If we already have these qualities why have we been languishing in the lower regions of Conference North for so long? It's not all about money either since other clubs with far fewer facilities and advantages than Southport have overtaken us. So long? They've only been in charge for 2 years since P...

Re: FA Cup draw

There has to be an ambition to improve from where we are at present surely, otherwise what is the point? I think we have leadership-what would you like Michael-a weekly parade of strength down Haig Avenue? I think we have buisness acumen too. What we don't have is finance, which I'm sure very deep ...

Re: FA Cup draw

I would suggest we get the qualities described above, it's not that difficult to find such people if there's the will. Perhaps we could use some of Mr Hodgkinson's legacy

Re: FA Cup draw

It would be a boring and predictable sport if results were determined by the size of a town's population. [/quote] They aren't. The story at Southport FC has long been one of neglect and mis-management. What is required is ambition, leadership and business acumen - qualities sadly in short supply a...

Not every 0-0 draw is a bore draw or 2 teams parking the bus. Sometimes a 0-0 draw can be an impressive achievement or a case of rank bad luck.
As in England's case

Re: Captain 21/22

Wouldn't we all welcome promotion !. I would, living in Bath and supporting a team in the national league north is darn expensive and the thought of watching a game without at least 3 train changes each way is a dream come true. Good to hear some positive thoughts. You could perhaps try Twerton Par...

Re: What can supporters do to help?

To be brutally honest, at the moment the fate of non league football clubs is pretty low on the Govt's agenda. Sure, some individual MPs might well care about votes to send constituents a sympathetic reply but that's as far as it will get. Maybe the Wealdstone fans should write to their own MP Bori...

Re: The Table

But after so many years of dross and decline the gates we get are surprisingly good. I disagree. A wealthy, attractive town with a 90,000 population and based in the North West (traditionally a footballing hotbed) ought to be able to provide greater support. Many other teams have few of these advan...

Thoroughly deserved to win as they were the better side. Just a pity the referee was Ross Joyce - 10 bookings and hardly a foul all game. Keeps up his record - last season 115 yellows and 3 reds in 27 matches!
