Re: Update from Ian Kyle

Imagine if the clubs could provide any old match ball they wanted, SFC might be playing with stuff bought from Nevill Street. I was suggesting there are plenty of choices for regulation match balls without being forced to buy a specific ball that may have been costing the club more than necessary. ...

Is he biding his time then because he's been gone 4 years and the clubs seems pretty healthy? He attempted it when he left or do you have a different view? Save your energy Gloucester...not worth it.. The "Clapham Out" and the "Clapham In" camps views will, and remain entrenched...

Bobby it was foretold years ago by Bob Murphy if you try and get him “ Clapham” out he’ll wreck the club! Is he biding his time then because he's been gone 4 years and the clubs seems pretty healthy? Re: Update from Ian Kyle

I hope these expensive match balls are going to be transported onto the pitch by remote control car this season. If we can get the car sponsored we may recover the cost of the balls.

Re: Morecambe

? If you had been stabbed in the back by fellow board members and others then it perhaps wouldn’t be surprising if you then tried to “wreck this club”. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. The league. They're specific designs manufactured for the competition.
So the league have agreed a deal with a manufacturer that costs each club approx £3750 per year?
I thought sponsorship was supposed to work the other way round!

Re: Update from Ian Kyle

Totally understand the gripe with balls landing in this guys garden. When he first bought the place in 1904 there was no football ground there - just a beautiful view over some fields. Ah but the only residence to buy in Ash Lane in 1904 was Ash Farm which was gone 20 years later. Maybe it's the gh...

Re: Update from Ian Kyle

To be fair, you wouldn't. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect a football club to be able to purchase and provide regulation match balls. The main gripe is they use ones that are so bloody expensive. Who chooses the balls? The league or the club? If the club are paying for them then surely a...

Good to see them back training, at Crosby the other day.
Why aren't they running up and down Birkdale dunes? Everything goes to south Sefton these days.

Re: Season ticket sales

In my opinion I think it’s frankly absurd that a NLN club won’t take cash. It puts off casual supporters you’d think clubs don’t want casual support? Casual supporters are unlikely to be buying a season ticket. We've also had a cash turnstile for the past 2 seasons after the brief "all ticket&...

Re: Morecambe

The difference between the likes of Morecambe and other clubs that have flown past us is that they had the drive and motivation to improve and succeed and had a laid down vision. Southport just have the drive and ambition to survive!! It's only taken them an additional 100 years to achieve the same...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

Portexileinbath, is that what Accrington, Harrogate, Barrow and Sutton have done? They're having a spell of overachieving and they won't have the safety net of re-election to save them 10 times like we did. We'd have lost our League place long before our late 60s and early 70s glory days had it not...

Former player Ben Lavelle will be a proud Dad today, seeing his son Sam skipper Morecambe to a League 2 play off final next Monday 31st May. Morecambe could be playing league games against the likes of Sunderland,Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth next season-quite incredible. As a...

Re: Home shirt 2021-22 vote

Random Sunday afternoon thought but as 2022-23 is the fiftieth anniversary of Southports only Football League honour maybe next years kit could reflect this? Going back to blue & yellow might not be sensible but maybe a kit which mirrors 72-73 with a similar collar and an embroidered SFC instea...

Absolutely love the kit. Beautiful in its simplicity. Great to have a consistent colour and branding...and for obvious reasons I'm very pleased that we are actually acknowledging the importance of history by prominently referencing 1881. But we were only founded in 1980? Presumably you're...

Will the ground to be back up to a full capacity this summer or will limits still be in place?
Not much point hoping for big away followings if we can't accommodate them.
