Re: BBC drop classified results service on radio

Enjoyed listening to it, but only ever did so on the way back from an away match. So easy now to check on an app or the internet. I think the representation this is indicative of the downfall of BBC Sport, which provides some of the best sporting coverage available when they have the rights, is a bi...

3 points away at Boston is a fantastic result, well done to the team and all who travelled.

Re: Audio coverage

Everything at this surrounding the social media and match coverage is done by volunteers. It will never be good as a full-time club like York which has a whole media team on their books that all get paid a good wage. So my question is if you think the coverage is that "shocking" and you w...

Re: Audio coverage

The Twitter coverage is absolutely shocking. By design. Ian mentions he'd rather people come to the games, which harks back to Charlie hating us from having live scores on the website because Ron Ellis would use it for the champion reports instead of turning up. Haha is that true?! Having done the ...

Re: Todays game -Blackpool FC

I don’t recall there being a suggestion that the racist abuse at York was from a Port fan, yellowfever, but I agree that incidents such as this are publicised when they happen then hardly mentioned when someone is caught for it. This was how York Press covered it at the time https://www.yorkpress.c...

Re: Todays game -Blackpool FC

From what I've seen, embarrassing from so called "home fans" - if that's true then don't bother coming again Which gate did they storm? I’ve been to hundreds of games where people wind up the opposition. I haven’t been to many games where grown men stormed a gate because they couldn’t han...

Re: New Book Coming Soon: The Town's Game

Thought this deserved to be moved to the main forum. Dan very kindly shared an early draft of this with me, it’s a fantastic book and a significant telling of the club’s early history, along with that of the Rugby Club and other sporting organisations in the town. ‘The Book’ by Michael and Geoff wil...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

would have Poku back in a heartbeat No, no, no. Liam is building a team for the future, and bringing back old “has been’s” is not the answer. I think this is a bit unfair. We've got a young and developing squad. A player of two with experience will be no bad thing. Unlikely to return anyway mind, h...

Re: Changes to football rules?

I would do away with playoffs and have promotion solely dependent on league position. Nope I would revert to 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The current points allocation is illogical. Nope I think that the penalty spot should be moved back. Its too easy to score a penalty, and that encourages...

Re: Bradford PA 0-5 Southport - Match Thread

Fc Isle of Man average attendance 1763 and highest 3230 in NWCL division 1 south - first season for the club Promotion to premier league and in Division 1 cup final Population 84k compared with 90k in Southport Maybe worth looking at what they are doing right It’s not really a fair comparison when ...

Re: SFC Team for Sir Michael Mouse Cup Final

Winning is an excellent habit, no matter the competition. Any and all silverware should be thoroughly welcomed. Well done to the lads. Hopefully we can use it as a bit of a platform for a final push before the season ends. I think the thread title is in poor taste but won’t be changed by mods as no ...

Big car park next to the ground and they weren't asking for payment at the semi.
