Re: Season Ticket Prices 2022/23

The other main factor which has seemingly been overlooked is the product that people are paying for. Football is different in this regard, as people will watch their team and not (usually) swap around for a 'better deal' elsewhere, but there still needs to be a balance between price and product. We...

Re: Preseason Friendlies

The three home friendlies against EFL teams are good picks. They will bring their first team and those clubs should bring a fair following and drink plenty of beer which is good for the coffers. Thank-you to whoever put in Lancaster away, very handy for me. Much obliged. I will avoid the Everton one...

Re: Season Ticket Prices 2022/23

This pricing structure seems poorly thought through, not just in terms of price rises but in its increments. The junior price has almost doubled from £50 to £90, however I don't think the new price is unreasonable. 23 home matches for £90 is £3.91 per match, I know the hike is huge but I find that h...

Runcorn manager in his late twenties doing well and moving to an underachieving step two side in the area. Sound familiar?

He has done his UEFA B coaching qualification according to Twitter so he must be looking at that route.

Imagine him back here as a player/attacking coach... oooh I can feel a tingle.

Re: Southport 1-1 AFC Telford - Match Thread

I know it's easy to knock the style of play, personally I am not opposed to direct, physical football. There is only one successful type of football - that is winning football. What I can't wrap my head around is that we have recruited players who are the opposite of what is needed to make our style...

Re: Southport 1-1 AFC Telford - Match Thread

1 win in 17 now... I don't think there is a full acknowledgement about how bad this has been. Last won in February, it is now May. When I left Edgar Street having seen us claim a narrow away win in the early spring sunshine, it never occured to me that would be the final win going into the last game...

There's lots of reasons to be critical about this season but I don't think this is one of them.

Liam and the players are repeatedly stating how grateful they are for the support.

Re: Gateshead 3-1 Southport - Match Thread

If Norwich go away to Man City and 'only' lose 1-3 there is maybe an argument it is 'not bad.' The day we accept losing 1-3 in the Conference North as 'not a bad result' is the day we should call the developers in and play our part to relieve the housing crisis with Haig Avenue Apartments. To be hon...

Re: Gateshead 3-1 Southport - Match Thread

I didn't attend, it looks as if we started atrociously and improved after two early changes. I did think the line up was strange, there was six defenders (seven if you include Bainbridge) I assume Carberry played in midfield? Our record against the top seven is dreadful and in the matches I have see...

Re: Which teams will get promoted out of our league?

Peterborough Sports? I can honestly say this thread is the first I have heard of them and I am an anorak. I see they only won the South Central Div 1 last season, so this would be consecutive promotions. Do they have a money man? I've heard of Peterborough Sports - they reached the 4th qualifying r...

Re: Which teams will get promoted out of our league?

Pleased there are no South Shields, they would have spent a fortune again in the summer and would have started next season as one of the favourites. I would rather Scarborough came up, they are better supported than Warrington and feel like a more 'proper' outfit to me. I remember playing them in th...

Re: West Didsbury and Chorlton F C

I would rather we won the competition than didn't and I hope we win tomorrow. If you enter you may as well win, it will be good for some of the players who won't have won anything in senior football yet. All the best to the team. However, in terms of our season and whether it has been good, bad or i...

Re: Southport 1-1 Spennymoor Town - Match Thread

I didn't attend today because it's a long way to travel for a dead rubber, so I can't comment on the match. I did think it would be a low key end of season affair and the usual blustery conditions would come out the winner. We have fallen to 12th and given that the next match is away at table toppin...

Depressing line from the interview, "the goals have dried up since Marcus left and that was always going to be the case." If only you were in the position to do something about it. I am not one who thinks we should have fought to keep him, that would have been self-defeating on many levels...
