Re: Kettering town

See Kyle Perry is playing for them. Liam will have to warn his young players not to be fooled by his antics. Remember him at Tamworth ten years ago. That long since? Never forget that day, went to the local Labour Club for a Pint pre game, paid £1.50 for that, a bottle of water inside the ground wa...

Re: FT York City 3-1 Southport - Match thread

A very good first half and by some distance our worst performance of the season in the second. Lots of games recently, but I cannot fathom taking off both forwards when we were losing. I can only echo what Swedes said about the first goal, just a dreadful lack of concentration. Set-pieces really cos...

Re: Alty

They seem to keep players for ages - they must have had loads of lads who have reached 200-odd games for Alty in the last few years (Densmore, Moult, Richman, Hancock - it felt weird on our recent visits going there and not seeing Stuart Coburn). We have spent those years sacking the manager every t...

We've got squad numbers now.

Good result, couldn't go but sounded like we had a few chances to nick it. Let's hope for a decent draw.

Alien autopsy. One of the FBI lads had Da Doo Ron Ron as his ringtone, had a nice chat about Neil Grayston.

What a bloody goal.

Enjoyed that performance, well done 'Port. Good support from the young 'uns again.

Re: Chorley 2-2 Southport - FA Cup - Match Thread

Well done lads. A dreadful, depressing first half absolutely swept aside by a magnificent second. A word for Marcus Carver - what a superb piece of centre forward play to get us the equaliser. A truly brilliant moment where we could all jump about like mad bastards - more of them please. Our fans at...

Re: York City Away Travel

I'm sure there will be places for people to eat/drink near the new ground - I just thought I would have a long-winded whinge about the horrid modern world whilst I was here. I am sure there are tediously sensible financial and logistical reasons for the ground move, but who wants to be all rational ...

Re: Brackley 1 Darlington 3

It's certainly our lowest position since we were founder members of Football League Division Three North 100 years ago. We currently have 135 other clubs directly above us in the football pyramid (20 PL, 72 FL, 23 NL, 20 NLN). When we were struggling in the 80's, at no point could there have been a...

Re: York City Away Travel

10am 😂…it’s only a two hour drive! York races are on. Also, I've never understood how anyone watches us sober - a couple of hours to stop the screaming in one's head is the minimum requirement really. The sad demise of Bootham Crescent and the move to the presumably soulless out-of-town Subbuteo st...

Re: Brackley Town 1-0 Southport - Match Thread

I think we ought to be able to put a reasonably competitive squad together at this level even without a huge amount of investment, and hopefully it will prove to be so - it is a very tough start and we are arguably a bit unfortunate to only have three points. Sadly, it feels like we are still paying...

Burnley is smaller than Southport, but I'm not sure it's worth trying to become an industrial centre now. We need to look at Bournemouth as a model, so if anyone knows any Russian billionaires...

Re: Southport 3 - 3 Gateshead - Match Thread

I think SSE has a point. Unfortunately I think our fanbase has slightly had the stuffing knocked out of it by the whirlwind of bullshit and broken promises it's been through for the last few years, and we are probably adjusting to the fact that we are not automatically promotion candidates at this l...

I can't say I've seen a lot of personal insults being chucked about though? Considering for as long as I can remember all our fans have hated each other for some reason I think it's all been quite jolly. I think it’s important to say, Ronnie, that no Port fan actually says they hate all other Port ...

Re: AFC Fylde 2-1 Southport Match Thread

We need more money to compete seriously even at this level, let alone NL. The Board’s number 1 priority should be looking for investors. Otherwise we will be in NPL before we know it. I get the feeling we have been stitched up financially somewhere along the line. We could do with Dion Charles bein...
