The game,a friendly which we won,the lad who scored the last goal took it well, and if he keeps scoring like that we won't have him long,
Why is the pitch so small,o yes, I remember part or the Watson master plan......Great

Well I thought the team worked hard throughout, not much upfront 1st half but much better 2nd, slightly concerned were the goals will come from as we didnt create too much first half, some promising signs, wish we could sign a big striker who could mix it a bit a we are lightweight in that department. 7/10 for me....

Rumours are rife that we could be signing a big striker very soon !

Yes, the pitch appears to have been narrowed on the Main Stand side now. We found it difficult to break Marine down in the first half but the introduction of Jack Bainbridge late on put more life into the side. Impressed with Josh Hmami and can see him getting a regular place in the side. Some of the chosen "music" does not come over very well on the speakers in the main stand, making conversation impossible, but maybe it's just me getting old.

Totally agree with you on the main stand music, actually not so much the music but the ridiculous volume. All the regulars around me said once the play started was the only time we could talk and actually hear each other. No chance of that before kick off and half time. As someone mentioned, the whole idea of covid precautions is still not to be too close to each other but the volume was making us having to go close to each other to try to be heard! Crazy🤷‍♂️
Please turn the volume down in the main stand, cheers.👍🤫

Much better second half as we had the ball in Marines half much more. The 4-2-3-1 in the first half looked adventurous but when the three (Woods, Hmami & Vassalo) are looking for scarce knockdowns it doesn’t work (shout out to Carver for pouncing on the mistake for the first & setting up the second though). We just need Conor on the ball as often as possible near to goal. I’d also like to see more of Jack Doyle in the oppositions half as his crossing is a useful weapon. Pre-season is all about finding what works and hopefully some useful lessons were learned tonight.

How is that possible? How could one side be narrower than the other?

Err - it isn't, the touchline has been moved in on the main stand side thus making the pitch narrower. The same was done on the Popular side a couple of seasons ago.
Any narrower and the pitch will resemble a long jump run up!

Wasn’t there last night (the tiny humans had other plans for me!!) but one of the issues to navigate with the PA system is that there is just the one volume control for the whole ground. Often to get the volume correct out on the terraces it means it is very loud in the main stand. To counter this, the wonderful Les is looking at getting some extra speakers out on the Pop side which should alleviate some of those issues.

Glad I didn't go last night. The excessive volume problems were going on all last season and the season before. It's a pity the mixing desk doesn't seem to have an off switch.

The music level is probably kept high to drown out the constant moaning ftom certain areas of the stand

I'm seriously considering taking ear plugs for before the match and half time. Everyone was just looking at each other shaking their heads at the noise.

How is that possible?
By remarking the pitch and moving the goalposts one presumes.

Err so its not narrower on one side then is it? It may have just been shifted over (which makes sense lots of space on pop side), or narrowed on both sides...

Getting strong "he's 28 til he's 29" vibes from this debate about the size of the pitch.

Can we do this during the match? Could be a great tactic!
