National League up the anti

Post by John Glendenning »

https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/sport/19084 ... -fixtures/

To follow on from the discussion on the "all matches off" thread, here is a story found in yorkpress.co.uk. This goes with the twitter "the gift that keeps on giving" letter in which our club is now being directly threatened with "actions". High time now to stand together with the other "refusnicks" and issue a joint statement.

It might also be a good time for supporters, perhaps via the Trust; but also individually, to start writing letters, comments etc within local and regional media outlets. We need to get our collective heads together and try to devise ways of getting the story National coverage. In this we NEED to make common cause with supporters of the other clubs involved. Our friend John Siddle, for example; works for the Mirror Group (as far as I know). If you see this John, can you get some interest going IF we manage to gather a more collective voice across the clubs involved?!

Found this on the Telford United Supporters Association page (from the league)

https://www.telfordunited.com/news/a-st ... al-league/

Busy compiling a list of links to supporter groups from the clubs presently sharing our non-compliant boat. Once this is done (tedious stuff indeed) maybe we can think about prompting TIY to approach.

8 of 11 matches already postponed tomorrow according to bbc fixtures website. Ours is one of the three still on....but the weather is so cold in southportshire tonight it's a dead cert to be frozen off...

How upsetting....

I’m surprised we only hear of the specific threat to our club from a York news site.
While I can see that the club might be unwise to comment, why is this not at least reported?
Worrying.

Much as I see your point. . IMO the club are doing the right thing.

The League are picking clubs off one by one and putting them under pressure via sanctions, I know the League have issued a statement today but it is very vague. . So as I said IMO the club are best to say nothing at this stage and work behind the scenes.

At least it looks very unlikely that tomorrows match will take place, Frost is deep in the ground here.

The FSA (which we as a forum are members of) have posted this update on the situation.

https://thefsa.org.uk/news/what-next-for-non-league/

I am keeping my eyes peeled for their next National Game Supporters Network meeting that we could contribute to and will post details in the relevant section the forum.

If all the clubs do this they'll have no one available on the admin side to answer all the charges levelled at them!!

The Dover chairman resigned from the League board a couple of weeks ago and has since been quite outspoken about the "goings on" behind the scenes.
