James Tedford gone
Re: James Tedford gone
I join everybody else in wishing James all the very best for the future. He has done a fantastic job for Southport FC and will be a great loss to the Club, but life must go on and a suitable replacement must be found. We are in a very precarious position now and the supporters must back Ian Kyle and we all hope he can keep the Club on at least an even keel for the time being. It is obvious that further investment and support is needed in the boardroom.
Re: James Tedford gone
James is a massive loss to us. We struck gold when bringing him to the club and someone like him doesn’t come along very often. Having said that, we just have to do the best we can in finding a replacement. Best wishes to him on his new role whatever that is. I think I am right in saying prior to joining us he was Matchday Cordinator with Chelsea Women. I wonder if he is going back to that role or something new.
Re: James Tedford gone
Thanks for everything James,it will be a very big loss to club. Spoke to James on many occasions and found he always had time to talk and explain what was happening at club. He did so much for club in so many different ways. Not surprised he has got a job at a high level,he deserves it. Good luck James.

Re: James Tedford gone
Totally agree with all that are thanking him for his hard work at the club. He did a supurb job for us and will be greatly missed. Hopefully nobody will begrudge him the chance to further his career at Chelsea, we were very lucky to have him, even if was only for a short time but he has left a legacy, a club in a much better state than when he arrived.
A friendly against Chelsea ladies would be an interesting pre season game. It would generate loads of publicity and hopefully a good crowd and much needed finances.

Nah, not entirely embarrassing (to get beat), they are an elite group of players and all things being even (and over physicality in check by the ref) any one of the Woman's super league teams would give us a good match.

In the women's game you don't get much more elite than the USA national team and they got beat a team of under 15 year old boys.John Glendenning wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 9:53 pm Nah, not entirely embarrassing (to get beat), they are an elite group of players and all things being even (and over physicality in check by the ref) any one of the Woman's super league teams would give us a good match.
We've all seen Southport out-muscled by bigger fitter teams without any allowance made by referees. You wouldn't ask Usain Bolt to go a bit slower if he was racing against Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce.

We must be nutters to watch SFC.

Sad to see you leave us James good luck in your new job you've done us proud under extraordinary times , you'll be hard to replace.
Re: James Tedford gone
Agree with all the deserved praise that James has had on here . I think we all knew he was so good that we would not keep him for the long run . It never seemed to matter what time it was that you contacted him as a friend of mine for advice at 7-15 pm and I’m sure I ( wrongly) spoke to him after 6pm on New Year’s Eve . He deserves all the success he gets but I hope one or two of the narks who got hold of him for complaints over which he had no control , now see the error of their ways.

I second this post good luck James and thank you I think you will go far.TrickyDicky wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 8:29 pm James has been instrumental in keeping the club functioning, this is a major loss - he’s been a terrific asset , I’m sorry but I wish it had been the football management team which had gone instead of him. I’m gutted but am delighted because he’s truly earned the right to progress his career upwards.

Whoever takes the job on will have little time to themselves judging by the requirements listed on the official site. Just shows how much James did for the club.
