Morecambe

Post by Gloucester »

I’ve just seen a travesty of justice Newport beaten by Adams free fall divers. I like Morecambe I remember going there in 1978/79 to Christie park. This all goes to show play offs are wrong Newport were the better side and were very unlucky.
Argyle v Morecambe that will be interesting?

Pleased for Morecambe.

Former loanee John O’Sullivan fouled in the area for the winning goal.

Fell over in the area after contact outside the box.

No offence to Newport but is a ploughed field a suitable surface for football in Div 1 ?.

After 34 years as Chairman and head honcho I wonder what Charlie Clapham thinks about this?
Morecambe-a club we used to lock horns with on a regular basis.
Will he reflect on a job well done?

I know what I think...

4 years on since his bodged handover of control at SFC and the fall out still being felt.

The difference between the likes of Morecambe and other clubs that have flown past us is that they had the drive and motivation to improve and succeed and had a laid down vision.

Southport just have the drive and ambition to survive!!

It's only taken them an additional 100 years to achieve the same 3rd tier status we once had.

When will it stop being Clapham’s fault? PHIL promised to anybody that would listen that the league would be won in 2018/19, that went well didn’t it?

It will never stop being CC's fault for me for allowing SFC to fall so far behind so many local clubs.
I'll never change my mind about that.

It was a power trip for Mr Clapham in many ways he did some good in his early years but after that it was all about himself and his total contempt for the supporters.
Please nobody forget how he tried to wreck this club when he left, That was foreseen and quite deliberate and he now still holds power and trust me he will do us no favours quite the opposite in my humble opinion.

In all truth he stayed too long and the club stagnated and he used the post for a power base for himself.

If you had been stabbed in the back by fellow board members and others then it perhaps wouldn’t be surprising if you then tried to “wreck this club”. Thankfully that wasn’t the case.
