Gloucester City sack Groves

Post by Gloucester »

Paul Groves and his staff have been dismissed earlier this evening after an awful run of results culminating in a 3-0 defeat today at Gateshead.

Couldn’t care less
Alan McDonald was more versatile than a Swiss Army knife.

They are reportedly spending a lot of money, and looks like they'll have to spend a bit more yet.
Genuine fan base is there, but one of the owners said they need 1,200 for home games to make it work, they won't get 4 figures in the bottom three.
They won't be the last team Gateshead spank 3-0 this season either.
Hopefully not tempting fate there.

Who would want to watch Gloucester when Cheltenham & Forest Green are so close by ? (And far more liked and respected).

How many times have we seen this before up and down the country. Owners budgeting based on crowds they've never had, then pulling the plug when the non existent supporters don't turn up.
We are the nutters, we come from the sea.
We must be nutters to watch SFC.

It all started to go downhill from their fitst game of the season when they were expected to win by a distance :)
I am eagerly awaiting the return fixture as it's one of my "local" games.

Gloucester hire former Bristol Rovers and Luton Town midfielder Lee Mansell as their new interim first team manager.

They were arrogant but the signing of Lee Mansell will make them up he’s a tough lad and decent coach.
It just goes to show without the right manager no matter what you spend it will end in tears.

Well, he can concentrate on the league, having been knocked out of the FACup by Folkestone.
