Dion has been linked with moves to both Brentford and Hull in recent days.

I know everybody who's into Fantasy Football will be way ahead of me, but in an idle half hour I worked up a list of ex-Port players who have played in the league this season:
David Raya (Brentford)
David Fitzpatrick (Port Vale)
Matty Plant (Barrow)
Elliot Osborne (Stevenage)
Toto Nsiala (Ipswich)
David Morgan (Accrington)
Ben Davies (Preston, now Liverpool)
Shaun Whalley (Shrewsbury)
Danny Lloyd-McGoldrick (Tranmere)
John O'Sullivan (Morecambe)
Mark Duffy (Fleetwood)
Amadou Bakayoko (Coventry)
Devarn Green (Scunthorpe)
Cole Stockton (Morecambe)
Dion Charles (Accrington)

Not a bad squad, though a little unbalanced. Any others I've missed?

May be good news for us. I’d be surprised if we don’t have an international cap fee included in his transfer.

Redrobe - I checked that all these players have actually played this season. I don’t think Ross Sykes has appeared in the league this time.

He’s played a handful of games and won their October 2020 goal of the month with this unspectacular effort.

Does Accrington goalkeeper Toby Savin count? Was with the youth setup for a few years.

Have all these actually played, rather than being on the books of these clubs?
If so, it’s impressive. But also rather sad☹️

Ellison was doing the rounds on Social Media this week after he celebrated at the Morecambe manager after scoring.

Fair play to Dion Charles on his call up to the Northern Ireland squad, its been a while since we were so closely linked to their international football

Absolutely, I’m delighted for him ; a talented talisman who could score goals and just as easily miss from 2 yards, but never hid and always seemed to be in the right place for the chances to arrive . Dion has got to be worth at least £2m of Brentford’s money , especially if Ivan Toney moves on for £15m to Leicester 👍

I totally agree with the comments about his work ethic on the pitch. A good example to young players, that playing time on the pitch, good performances and hard work, even at lower league teams such as us, can be a stepping stone to better things.
Hopefully we included a good sell on clause in his transfer deal, it could go a long way towards strengthening the squad for next season and bring about what I want so much, Conference football (and more games that are close enough to home for me to get to).

Toney would be double that figure. But anyway... Back to Southport. 😂
