Port Graves

Post by SfcFPA »

Were on a bit of a quest to discover the final resting place for as many former players as possible.
A longer term aim would be to try and restore any found to be in poor condition and add something to indicate their service to the club...this however is definitely longer term as it would be funds permitting and we are a not for profit society.

We've made a start and discovered a number in Duke Street Cemetery this weekend, including mr Ralph Leather Rylance...

Please let us know if you know the location of any other Port Graves.

Today we have also discovered the final resting place of the man we think is most likely to be responsible for the switch to Association football in 1881, Thomas Blundell Burnett.
He is buried in the grounds of St Peter's in the parish of Formby.
A Photo of his memorial will be added to the website shortly.
