Following the recent events surrounding our former stadium naming rights’ partner, we now have several exciting and prestigious opportunities for new partners to gain recognition from the tens of thousands of people that watch, visit and engage with The Port each year.

Your business could enjoy naming rights for our Haig Avenue stadium, our main stand or our Blowick End away supporters’ terrace.

Many companies have recognised the value of associating their brands with football clubs’ stadia – now is your chance to do the same.

The above was just posted on the Club Facebook page.

I can't think of many sponsored stadium names that don't sound ridiculous but it's a necessay evil. It will be Haig Avenue to me regardless unless the sponsors pay me to say otherwise.

I hope the club has been in touch with Haig Club whisky.

The Apollo Leisure Arena.
Naming it after a company that no longer exists tends to defeat the object of the exercise.

Not a ridiculous suggestion. DB has family in Southport.

With Pure now gone, can we cover up the Pure logo on the back of the shirts with the players names! (Or this a whole new debate!)

So they do. I thought the name had gone when they were bought out by SFX in 1999.
That's when their shares in SFC transferred from the company to Sam Shrouder and was why Paul Gregg had the funds to get involved with Everton.

The Statement of administrator's proposal released on companies House on Friday confirms Southport as an unsecured creditor to the tune of £75,700, second only in terms of size of debt to Huddersfield Town's £490,666.

The £75k is what? Promises re sponsorship?
What amazes me is how Phil managed to take over a club the size of Huddersfield. I would have thought that would have taken many tens of millions at least.

The debt is listed as due to Pinewise Limited, a company that ceased to exist in December 2019. Southport Football Club Limited used to be called Pinewise Limited until it changed it’s name in August;2018. So, does the debt go back that far or is it a more recent debt and the Administrators have just got the wrong Company name?

It didn't cease to exist, it changed it's name.

It did cease to exist. Another Company had previously been created called Southport FC that changed it’s name to Pinewise Limited and was then struck off in December 2019. You can verify this yourself by going to Companies House website and searching for Pinewise Limited.
