Dire game. Pitch is too firm. Neither side able to string a pass.
One chance - one goal and a proper celebration...

You mean - the pitch isn't waterlogged as is our tradition? Surely that's good?!

Brilliant... Now nearer the play-off places than the bottom of the table, points-wise at least...

All about Connor Woods. Get him the ball in the last third and he’ll score. Great effort from the rest of the team too….both goals were well worked, great stuff on the floor by Bainbridge for the first & a good run by Niall for the second.

says a lot about the good place Port are in when Liam can make several changes to a side with winning momentum and the players still deliver a solid win and a clean sheet - well in Port, great stuff. Onwards and upwards!

Terrific well deserved win against a hard niggling Alfreton side. Rhead, their talisman, was well marked all game. They had no answer to our ground attacks from the wings, and both Woods goals were well taken. IBR was a revelation in the second half and completed his first full game. A really superb team performance and climb to 15th in the league. Up the Port.

I thought it was a poor game. Neither side able to string a pass. Physical game which was stopped by the referees whistle regularly.

3 points playing poorly is a good return. We were clinical. We took our chances and restricted them to one of any note.

I thought Liam Edwards was outstanding at the back and we managed Rhead really well. Mr Versatile, Charlie Oliver, started in midfield, was shifted to right wing back, then back into midfield and finally finished at right back
Isaac defensively was excellent and that's not his normal style of play.
Carver was hauled off before he was going to be sent off. They were trying to goad him and get him sent off.
Lacked a ball player and pace in central midfield and Hmami made a difference when he came on.

Not a game for the purist, war of attrition, which we won, well played port, great win.
Things to mention, the ref was a joke, reminded me of a bad pe teacher from school, booked carver, when he didn't even see what happened.
Like watching rickets, he played like a wing back tonight, he tires a bit towards the end,but there's a really class player in there, just bubbling under the suffice,
Great noise from the lads,& lassies in the jack car, there noise really helps,
We have lost are soft touch, up and onwards, up the port!!

Well done lads!! Alfreton are never an easy team to play against, and look good against. Roll on Saturday, and hopefully a good cup run 😀

Solid performance and excellent result against a typically robust Alfreton

Thought we were very good defensively and handled Rhead well. He won every header but there was no one unmarked to pick up his pieces. 2 well taken goals from Woods who was then substituted. Tremendous effort again from the whole team.

Disappointingly low attendance
