Despite a sub appearance for NI during the week, no sign of Dion Charles appearing in the Accy squad.

I was told earlier this week that JC has sent him out on loan to a Scottish League club. He would have been better coming back to us.

Hibernian are after him.

To a club 5th in Scottish Premiership, that could be worth a few quid in transfer fees.
Good luck Dion

Shaun Whalley scored a great individual goal for Shrewsbury in a much needed 1-0 league win over MK Dons.

I have it on extremely good authority that Accrington Stanley turned down a derisory bid for him from Hibernian late on deadline day when Dion was away on International duty with Northern Ireland. As we know, John Coleman quite rightly values him in the seven figure bracket, although I would have thought that could obviously change if Dion doesn't start playing regular football again soon.
Not a good situation for either Dion or Accy (or SFC!)

Saw my mate play for Carmarthen against TNS yesterday. Ryan Astles played. Considering I really liked him at Southport, I’m quite glad he’s not with us anymore 😂

In April 1896 that year there is a dramatic account of a game between Kendal and Preston North
End Reserves before a crowd of 1,000 on Maude's Meadow. Kendal gave their all but found their
opponents too strong in the end. One interesting detail concerns a penalty miss by Kendal when it
states that the goalkeeper "standing about nine yards out instead of six, easily cleared".
In the words of Tomkins, "The ethos of Clapham became the spirit of the age."

1891 FA new rule wrote:”If any player shall intentionally trip or hold an opposing player, or deliberately handle the ball within twelve yards from his own goal line, the referee shall, on appeal, award the opposing side a penalty kick, to be taken from any point 12 yards from the goal line, under the following conditions: All players, with the exception of the player taking the penalty kick and the goalkeeper, shall stand behind the ball and at least six yards from it; the ball shall be in play when the kick is taken. A goal may be scored from a penalty kick”
1905 rule change wrote:an alteration to the rules around penalty kicks was introduced in 1905. It stated that the goalkeeper must stay on his line until the ball was kicked, with that alteration remaining in place ever since.

An ex-girlfriend is from Burneside. A quaint part of the world where lock-ins at the local pub are common, providing you clean and hoover up before you go home. Although they don’t like it if you don’t pronounce the first ‘e’.

Dion Charles hasn't now kicked a ball in an official match for Accrington Stanley since the 2.1 defeat at Sunderland on 11th September...
It's going to be a long Winter for him-and the way things could be developing-the Spring too....
He needs to start thinking long and hard about himself here and his career-and actually start to do some of his own thinking instead of listening to every word is agent mutters, because he obviously isn't doing at the moment...
