The Dion Charles saga continues. Difficult to tell what has gone on, but from a position six months ago where he was playing international football and could arguably have had a seven-figure transfer to a Championship club, he’s now in a complete mess. He’ll be lucky to get a gig at any league club when his contract with Accy runs out. Who wants somebody who hasn’t played competitively for months and has a bad reputation (whether deserved or not)? Accy losers as well as Southport. All-round car crash.

I had backed John Coleman on how he had dealt with it but not sure if I do now. Accrington must be financially comfortable for the situation to be allowed to continue as it has been. Dion may have been badly advised but if he leaves for a cut price, other League 1 and Championship clubs will still be keen. He's not been injured after all and probably remains at a decent fitness level. Seems like Accrington are the only ones who will lose out now.

Toto playing for Ipswich as number 22, on ITV 4 now, Barrow v Ipswich - FA Cup replay

Platt, number 5 for Barrow, not sure whether it's Matty Platt who was with us

We could get him back on a free transfer, sort him out, then sell him again after he scores the winner for us against Fylde in the play off final.

He's a Northern Ireland international who scored 20 goals in League One last season, I doubt he's going to drop out of the football league because he hasn't played for a few months. I'd imagine almost any club below the Championship would still take him, although fewer may be willing to pay in January than before.

While he may be out of contract in the summer, there will be a lot of league clubs desperate for a new striker in January so I don't think all hope is lost yet.

Nice scenario Ralphy but i think Santa is busy giving xmas presents to children for a week or so.
We could offer to take DC on loan for a month so he can get match fit, thus helping to make him more saleable... But would he get in our first team now :D

It's a sad state of affairs when a person can't even enjoy a night out. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to KE.

Dean Winnard and David Lynch were both in action for Marine as the league leaders beat Newcastle Town 3-2.

I didn't realise this but Kevin Lynch is manager of Prescot Cables.

Not a former player, but I see the clubs former 'Head of Commercial', Steven Brown is making friends at Oldham Athletic by writing to and banning several fans for their protests against the running or the club.

How to make friends and influence people...
