Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Good luck Liam, ironically he had a particular and unusually for him poor game at Chester (along with most of our boys!) and I think a few games later spent most of his last game against Solihull bending his knee the whole time
presumably stretching his dodgy knee . Not sure if his terrible injury will stand up to the rigours of training and playing twice a week, but hope I’m proved wrong .

A fully fit Liam Edwards was a " no brainer" signing for SFC.
Liam Watson obviously (to me) has decided against pursueing his services permantly-which surely tells supporters everything? I too remember his horror show performance at Chester FC.
Good luck to him in the future.

I have to ask what does it tell us ?. Is it that LW isn't going to gamble on a player who may not be fit enough to last the season (ie, a financial gamble for the club), or are you implying there is a lack of ambition by SFC ?.siddle wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 10:23 amCorrect.yellowfever wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 10:14 am Liam Watson obviously (to me) has decided against pursueing his services permantly-which surely tells supporters everything?

I would expect that the reasoning is that he is injury prone, although an excellent player when fit
Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Portchat: We need a bigger squad to deal with injuries!
Also Portchat: We should be signing players with known injury problems!

He's not fit enough to last until September.portexileinbath wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:52 pmI have to ask what does it tell us ?. Good player but made of gravy.
Alan McDonald was more versatile than a Swiss Army knife.

According to the Blackpool Gazette, Blackpool's new boss, Michael Appleton will not include Doug Tharme in his 25 players in the official squad list. Apparently Appleton is looking to bring in 4 or 5 players and he needs to trim his squad to make this happen.
Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
The Gazette article seems largely speculation on the reporters part
https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/spor ... et-3741481
Doug is mentioned as a player vulnerable to not making the 25 and there’s no quotes from Appleton in the article (and you can keep players who don’t make the 25). He’ll need to see what he’s got before bringing new players in of course but being bought by the previous manager & probably unknown to Appleton is difficult for him.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could get him back on loan.
