Re: Tranmere home friendly
The two centre halves were very poor. The full backs were too far forward and left the centre halves exposed. Played ok in second 20m of first half and looked dangerous on the attack.
Good strike by Munro.

Re: Tranmere home friendly
Not much to say really, just players getting minutes. Jack Doyle had a good first half so got man of the match, we still play too many long balls then don’t win the first (or second!) ball so possession reverts to opponents who don’t give it back as readily. Munro scored a belter in the second half and we passed it more. No pre-season match needs too much analysis as they’re really all about getting your squad fit for when points are at stake. Weather was lovely, bar wasn’t as busy as against Blackpool.

Didn't go so can't comment but would interested to know if any atmosphere or noise in the ground other than the away end.

Did anyone try the streaming?
Re: Tranmere home friendly
Evans not there
Bell only got 30 mins - didn't do much.
Re: Tranmere home friendly
Not sure about Evans but Bell looks useful and is learning how to link with others in the team.

Re: Tranmere home friendly
What a cracking goal from Charlie Munro.
Goal of the season contender already!
Good workout for our lads in that weather against a very decent Tranmere team. We were asleep for their first two for sure which was a tad disappointing but got better as the match went on. Some great blocks and defensive work eventually. Hmani was unlucky not to score with his attempt that hit the crossbar.
Not that bothered about the results in pre season so not worried.
Didn't notice any difference in the atmosphere, their was sporadic chanting going on behind the goal as always. Just a typical pre season friendly atmosphere.
Just a quick mention on the app. The man of the match section only gave us 7 players to choose from. Hopefully just a glitch. Plus their needs to be another option on referee rating below Poor.....Piss Poor!

Zero atmosphere which is disappointing because that's one of the main reasons for attending a live football match! Very little if any banter between the fans and the stewards and police had little if nothing to do! I hope the stay aways return!
Much better performance than against Lancaster, the
highlights for me were an unbelievable save by McMillan and Munro's great finish.

Some of stay aways aren't allowed to return and their mates are rightly backing them. Zero atmosphere and blue chip middle aged supporters are what the outraged and offended want. Heavy handed reaction will cost the club long term.Marsh Harrier wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 8:24 pm Zero atmosphere which is disappointing because that's one of the main reasons for attending a live football match! Staying away won’t change the club’s decision.
Some genuine contrition and a plea for a second chance might have some effect.

None of the usual chanting the man with the drum wasnt there or any of the lads who orchestrate the singing the Tranmere goalie didnt get the usual off putting chants we didnt all have a disco etc a lot of the youngsters turned up but seemed a little lost today only time there was any noise from home support was when we scored we didnt play badly in very hot conditions with water breaks despite the early goals setbacks .Their manager was vocal which helped them cheers mick.Any Port In A Storm wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 6:05 pm Didn't go so can't comment but would interested to know if any atmosphere or noise in the ground other than the away end.

No they were quieter than usual clapping for good moments of play, not many in there [ the stand] today only 500 + home supporters in total in the ground they were better than us today but we gave our all and never gave it up which was appreciated and there are signs of improvement from the first game cheers mick.

It's a pre season friendly, a glorified training session.optimickstic wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 9:27 pm

I'd hardly expect it to be like Galatasaray in the 1990s.
