Put out our new CTK academy side, I don't want to hear about the micky mouse cups being an achievement this season.

Can we not just say we're too busy like Liverpool do?

Could play in the dark to add some novelty value?

Couldn't agree more with the sentiments above. If we had a squad of 20+ players and wanted to give game time to fringe players, or people returning from injury fine, but we don't.
A total waste of ££ on floodlights etc for very few people.
Luminous balls the answer ?

Genuine question: what purpose do the LSC/Lanc Trophy/all their other regional versions serve these days?

For Liam and the board to consider it a successful season when we inevitably win them both.

To many clubs in the lower divisions, the competition is (was?) quite prestigious. The competition isn't really designed to placate clubs like ours. I think there's still some value in it lower down.

I presume there's income for the county FAs involved. Entry fees? Final gate receipts?

The farcical level of importance we attach to these completely meaningless competitions is underlined by the fact that my season ticket is illustrated with a photo of last year’s win in the Lancs Senior Cup against, er, who was it again??

It's actually the junior rather than senior Lancs competition.

I get they want some illustration of success but the season tickets don't even get you into those games.

The main concern is the risk of further injuries to our fragile squad.
